Author Guidelines

SEKARTAJI: Journal of Gender, Childhood, and Muslim Societies accepts the following types of manuscripts:

1.⁠ ⁠Original Research Articles

Original research articles present empirical findings based on qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, ethnographic, case study, survey, field research, or community-based research approaches. Manuscripts in this category should offer clear research problems, appropriate methodology, rigorous data analysis, and meaningful contributions to the study of gender, childhood, family, education, social policy, and Muslim societies.

2.⁠ ⁠Review Articles

Review articles provide critical, systematic, integrative, scoping, or bibliometric reviews of existing scholarship. Manuscripts in this category should synthesize relevant literature, identify theoretical or methodological gaps, and offer new insights for future research on gender, children, family, education, social transformation, and Muslim societies.

3.⁠ ⁠Conceptual and Theoretical Articles

Conceptual and theoretical articles develop, examine, critique, or extend concepts, theories, models, or analytical frameworks related to gender studies, childhood studies, family studies, Islamic social studies, education, and social transformation. Manuscripts in this category should demonstrate strong theoretical grounding and make a clear scholarly contribution.

4.⁠ ⁠Policy and Practice Papers

Policy and practice papers discuss policy issues, institutional practices, community programs, educational initiatives, child protection systems, gender mainstreaming, family welfare, or social interventions in Muslim societies. Manuscripts in this category should provide analytical depth, practical relevance, and implications for policy, professional practice, or community development.
